How to calculate it
Add the digits of your birth month, your birth day and the current year, and reduce the total to a single digit. Personal Years run from 1 to 9; master numbers aren't usually kept for Personal Years.
- Example: birthday 15 June, year 2027.
- Month: 6. Day: 1 + 5 = 6. Year: 2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11, then 1 + 1 = 2.
- 6 + 6 + 2 = 14, then 1 + 4 = 5.
- Personal Year in 2027: 5.
The nine-year cycle
- 1: beginnings, planting seeds, independence.
- 2: patience, partnership and quiet growth.
- 3: expression, creativity and connection.
- 4: building foundations, steady work.
- 5: change, movement and freedom.
- 6: home, responsibility and care.
- 7: reflection, study and rest.
- 8: effort, ambition and results.
- 9: completion, release and making space.
The universal year
The year itself also has a number: 2026 reduces to 1 and 2027 to 2. In numerology that makes 2026 a universal year of beginnings and 2027 a year of partnership and patience, a backdrop shared by everyone.
Using it well
Your Personal Year is a theme, not a forecast. If you're entering a 7 year, you don't have to withdraw; you might simply leave more room for reflection. Some people like to revisit their number on their birthday, others on 1 January.
