In Human Design, your type gives you a strategy, and your inner authority describes how you're said to make decisions that feel right. Many people find authority the most practical part of their chart, because it gives them something to try the very next time they have a choice to make.

Where authority comes from

Authority depends on which centres are defined in your bodygraph, in a fixed order of priority. If the Solar Plexus is defined, it is always your authority. If not, the Sacral is next, then the Spleen, and so on.

The authorities

Emotional (Solar Plexus): decisions are said to become clear over time, as your emotional wave settles. The suggestion is to sleep on it, often more than once.
Sacral: a gut response in the moment, often a sound or a felt yes or no, to something you're asked or presented with.
Splenic: a quiet, instant intuition, often felt once and not repeated.
Ego (Heart): what you truly want and are willing to commit to.
Self-Projected (G centre): hearing yourself talk things through, noticing what feels like you.
Mental or Environmental: talking with trusted people and noticing how places feel, rather than deciding from inner authority.
Lunar: for Reflectors, waiting a full lunar cycle of about 28 days before major decisions.

Trying it out

The invitation in Human Design is to experiment rather than believe. Pick a small decision, follow your authority, and notice how it feels afterwards. Over a few weeks you'll have your own evidence for whether it's useful to you.

Why accuracy matters
