Saturn in Aries 2026–2028: What It Means

Saturn takes about 29 years to circle the zodiac, spending roughly two and a half years in each sign. After a first brief visit in 2025, it settled into Aries in February 2026, where it will stay until April 2028. Here are the dates and the tradition's reading.

The dates, calculated

With the astronomy library Soul Atlas uses: Saturn first entered Aries on 25 May 2025, moved back into Pisces on 1 September 2025, and re-entered Aries on 14 February 2026. It was retrograde from 27 July and turns direct on 11 December 2026. It enters Taurus on 13 April 2028 (all dates UTC).

Neptune is also in Aries, having entered for good on 26 January 2026, so the two outer planets share the sign through this period.

Saturn and Aries in the tradition

Saturn is the planet of structure, responsibility, limits and long-term effort. Aries is a cardinal fire sign of initiative, courage and new beginnings. Traditionally Saturn is considered uncomfortable in Aries, a combination read as learning to give impulse a form: to start things in a way that lasts.

Reflections for the transit

  • What am I starting now that I'd like to still be doing in ten years?
  • Where do I need more patience with myself as a beginner?
  • What would courage look like if it were steady rather than sudden?

In your chart

Find the house Aries occupies in your chart: the tradition would say that's where Saturn asks for commitment and maturity over these two years. Planets in Aries, or in the cardinal signs Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, may feel it more personally.
